这个故事最早记载在南宋祝穆的《方舆胜览》里，讲的是诗仙李白少年时期的一段经历。"铁杵磨成针"后来成为激励人们持之以恒、终有所成的经典成语，跟"闻鸡起舞""凿壁偷光"一样，至今仍写在中国孩子的课本里。

This story was first recorded in the Southern Song scholar Zhu Mu's geographical compendium Fangyu Shenglan, describing an episode from the boyhood of the great poet Li Bai. Grinding an Iron Rod into a Needle became a classic idiom encouraging perseverance until success is achieved, and like rising at the rooster's crow and chiseling the wall to borrow light, it is still taught in Chinese children's textbooks today.
