Across the vast islands of the Pacific, the Māori people passed down a legend about Maui. He was the youngest of his brothers, small and often dismissed as "not much use." But no one expected that this unassuming youngest brother would go on to do something his whole people would be grateful for, generation after generation.

那时候太阳跑得飞快，白天短得可怜，人们种的庄稼还没晒够太阳，天就黑了，很多事情都做不完。毛伊看在眼里，决定想办法让太阳"慢下来"。

Back then, the sun raced across the sky so fast that the days were painfully short. Crops didn't get enough sunlight before night fell, and there was never enough time to get things done. Maui saw this, and decided he would find a way to make the sun "slow down."
