《木偶奇遇记》是意大利作家卡洛·科洛迪创作的经典童话，1881年7月起在《儿童杂志》上连载，起初只写了15章，因为小读者反响太热烈，作者才继续写下去，1883年才正式结集成书。故事讲述老木匠杰佩托用一块神奇的木头雕出会说话的木偶皮诺曹，皮诺曹一心想变成真正的男孩，却因为贪玩、撒谎屡屡闯祸——"说谎鼻子会变长"这个意象，如今已经传遍全世界。

The Adventures of Pinocchio is a classic tale by the Italian writer Carlo Collodi, first serialized in Children's Magazine starting in July 1881. It originally ran for only 15 chapters, but young readers loved it so much that the author kept writing, and the complete book was finally published in 1883. The story follows Geppetto, an old woodcarver who carves a talking puppet named Pinocchio from an enchanted piece of wood. Pinocchio longs to become a real boy, but his mischief and lying keep getting him into trouble — and the image of "a liar's nose growing longer" has since become known around the world.
