莫伊图拉之战的故事出自爱尔兰古代文献《莫伊图拉第二次战役》，最完整的抄本是一份16世纪的手抄本，现藏伦敦大英图书馆。它属于爱尔兰的「神话故事群」，讲述半神族群图哈德达南与其他族群争夺爱尔兰的经过。

The tale comes from the old Irish text The Second Battle of Moytura, whose most complete copy is a sixteenth century manuscript now in the British Library in London. It belongs to the Mythological Cycle of Irish legend and tells how the semi divine Tuatha De Danann fought other peoples for the land of Ireland.

传说图哈德达南族带来了四件宝物，其中一件叫「命运之石」，据说真正的至高王踩上去，它就会发出欢呼。爱尔兰米斯郡的塔拉山上至今立着一块被称为「命运之石」的石柱，那里曾是古代爱尔兰至高王加冕的地方。

Legend says the Tuatha De Danann brought four treasures to Ireland. One was the Stone of Destiny, which was said to roar with joy when the rightful High King stood on it. A standing stone called the Stone of Destiny still stands on the Hill of Tara in County Meath, where the ancient High Kings of Ireland were crowned.
