《金鹅》由德国格林兄弟收录，1815年出版在《儿童与家庭童话集》第二卷里（第一卷是1812年，收录了灰姑娘、小红帽等故事）。故事讲一个总被人瞧不起的小儿子，因为心地善良，把仅有的食物分给了森林里一位灰发老人，得到了一只浑身羽毛闪着金光的鹅作为回报——只要有人碰了这只鹅就会黏在上面，一长串越粘越多的人被他拖着走，这滑稽的场面逗笑了一位从未笑过的公主，最终帮他赢得了婚姻。

The Golden Goose was collected by the German Brothers Grimm and published in 1815, in the second volume of their Children's and Household Tales (the first volume, from 1812, included Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood). The story follows a youngest son who is constantly looked down upon, but whose kindness — sharing the little food he has with a grey-haired old man in the forest — earns him a goose with feathers of pure gold. Anyone who touches the goose gets stuck to it, and a long, ever-growing chain of people ends up being dragged along behind him — a ridiculous sight that finally makes a princess who has never laughed, laugh, winning him her hand in marriage.
